I have always loved stories. As time went by, I came to realize that our bodies also have interesting ones to tell. Those we all know so well yet very often are too lazy to read: those about stress, sedentary lifestyles, overpressure, and also those with even darker undertones of trauma, grief, and fear, which we better overlook in a society so focused on performance and unsatiable desires.
Studying my own back pain led me to interesting places and more than that, it taught me how to humbly listen to the whole story my body is trying to communicate with me, taking back full responsibility for my own well-being.
Touch, and specifically massage, became the perfect tools for gently approaching the once-silent source of information. Engaging herbs in the form of essential oils was just another step to take on this discovery journey. Every single plant hides myriad stories our soul can relate to.

Lavandula angustifolia
Calming embrace from an old friend
Lavender is an herb which has been used in cosmetics and traditional medicine for centuries. Its essential oil is a great remedy for stress, anxieties and is applicable everywhere we need to ground ourselves again. It has strong disinfectant effects and for that is very helpful for problematic oily skin, it can also improve the conditions when sunburnt or after mosquito bites. It has a permanent place in my aromabox and personally I would strongly recommend having lavender oil in every home first aid kit too.

If there is one herb we can connect with refreshment, that would be mint, not only refreshing us on physical level, but can also elevate our spirit and brighten up our mood. It has disinfectant effects, and it has cooling nature. It´s useful when dealing with common cold, great for upper back and chest massages. It is also very beneficial for proper functioning of digestive systems. It can help to waken us up and to concentrate.

Juniper has been respected since prehistoric era, there are records that it has been used by ancient Greeks to fight against epidemies. Its essential oil is strongly warming. It´s great help especially for lower back pain. It also holds strong diuretic effects and its also very beneficial for the proper functioning of lymphatic system. Its aroma is traditionally connected with purification purposes.
